What exactly is the German
Canadian Congress?
ÜThe German
Canadian Congress MB (is a non-profit, non- partisan,
non-sectarian organization that mirrors the cultural aspirations
of tens of thousands of Manitobans of Germanic origin. It is
also an umbrella organization responsible for the promotion of
German culture in Manitoba. The GCC encourages cooperation among
German-Canadians, passing information and news to benefit the
German-Canadian Community and the country as a whole.
Do I have to be of German
origin to participate? Do I need to be a member of the German
Canadian Congress?
ÜNo.
All you need is a curiosity or an interest in German culture,
German language, or just about anything German. German is not
only spoken in Germany by ethnically German people!
You may at anytime join the
German Canadian Congress as a member (there is a student rate)
Is there an age
restriction?
ÜIf you are 18
years of age or older you are welcome to join us! Bring friends!
